creative health

In response to the urgent need for equity in the creative health sector, we've developed a groundbreaking programme focused on anti-racism in creative health practices.

Our CPD accredited"Advancing Anti-Racism in Creative Health" course is designed for creative health practitioners, healthcare professionals, arts administrators, and anyone committed to promoting equity in health and wellbeing through creativity.

This intensive programme covers:

  • Understanding racism's impact on health outcomes and creative engagement

  • Developing culturally sensitive and inclusive creative health interventions

  • Implementing sustainable anti-racist practices in organizations

  • Effective co-production and community engagement strategies

  • Evaluating and measuring impact through an equity lens

Through interactive workshops, case studies, and action planning, participants gain practical skills to create more equitable and inclusive creative health practices.

By joining this programme, you'll become part of a growing network of practitioners dedicated to transforming the creative health field, ensuring it serves and represents all communities effectively and respectfully.

Artist Development

The Arts are for everyone, but too often we do not see inclusivity and diversity in mainstream arts. We are determined to change this by providing free opportunities for emerging and established artists to develop their creative practice and propel their careers. We do this by providing access to free masterclasses via our YouTube page, curating professional panel discussions, podcast content, commissions, internships and development programmes.

In 2020 we launched our first poetry development programme for poets from Black and Minority ethnic backgrounds funded by Arts Council England.

We supported 26 poets from across the world in an intense 6-week online programme delivered by renowned poets; Caleb Femi, Ajanae Dawkins and Leslie McIntosh. Students learnt about the poetry business, gained new skills in craft and editing, analysed and workshopped each others work and built community across continents. You can view their work in Issue One of our Inkwell Magazine.

95% of students said the programme enhanced their skills in creativity.

Since then we have launched our full 1 year poetry development programme Griots Well. Eight poets over the age of 25, from Black and ethnically diverse backgrounds will have access to a full package of support for their writing practice. This will include mentoring, masterclasses, a writing retreat and paid artist residencies.
