GRIOTS WELL - POETRY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Writerz and Scribez CIC is running Griot's Well - our new 1 year poetry development programme for Black and ethnically diverse poets over the age of 25.

Over the course of a year the selected Griots will be supported through a range of activities including: 

• Monthly critique workshops

• Five Masterclasses

• One to one mentoring

• 3 Day Writing Retreat

• Paid Artist Residencies

The mentors on the programme are; Tolu Agbelusi, Jasmine Cooray, Ajanae Dawkins, Keith Jarrett and  Rachel Long. Other artists include Kayo Chingonyi, Peter Kahn, A. Van Jordan, Jacob Sam-La Rose, and Danez Smith. 

This programme has been designed for poets who have a writing practice already and are eager to participate in community learning to develop their creative skills. Griots Well is kindly funded by Arts Council England. 

Sessions will be held online or in London either at Streatham Space Project or Battersea Arts Centre. The writing retreat will be at Goodnestone House from 15-18th May 2022.
